Kindergarten Teacher: Mrs. Missy Schramm
Missy Schramm a mother of four, two she adopted after being a foster parent for six years. Has been blessed being able to home school for the past ten years: Matthew (15), Anna (14), Sasha (10), Michael (6). A hair dresser by trade, but my love and passion is for helping all children to grow in a loving safe environment at there own pace.
Our focus at the Home School Academy is to accomplish for you the things that are difficult to accomplish at home. Therefore, the Kindergarten class day will include circle time, show & tell and lots of hands on activities centered around science, holidays, music, literature, seasons, etc.
We will be working on pre-writing skills, gross & fine motor skills, communication skills, listening skills, etc. while having a fund day that includes crafts, games, snacks, reading and group activities. We do not focus on teaching math, phonics, how to read or how to write the alphabet.
Enrollment Requirements/Expectations for Kindergarten students:
For this class, your child must be at least 4 1/2 years old when classes begin and can be up to 6 years old.
In order to be in this class, your child:
- Must be fully potty trained
- Must be able to sustain attention for at least 15 minutes at a time.
- Should be willing to be separated from their parents for a class day.
- Should be willing to learn to cut, color neatly, and be able to use their fine motor skills.
- Should be able to work independently for 5 minutes and wait for help.
