Quarter 4 Fun Activities For Home
This quarter has lots of simple, fun Food Experiments.
We have many students with allergies, so we won't be doing these in class.
Have fun exploring at HOME!

Atom Color Scheme for homework assignment:

Protons – RED

Electrons – BLUE

Neutrons – GREEN

For continuity, the students should color their homework sheets using this color scheme

The assigned homework is listed in the syllabus above.
However, there are many more activities and worksheets in this curriculum.
Below is a compilation of the many opportunities for learning  available for you and your student(s) to do at home!!
Have Fun!

Some helpful explanations from wikipedia.org:

Metallic bonding is the force of attraction between valence electrons and the metal ions. It is the sharing of many detached electrons between many positive ions, where the electrons act as a "glue" giving the substance a definite structure. It is unlike covalent or ionic bonding.

Covalent bonds are chemical bonds between two non-metal atoms. An example is water, where hydrogen (H) and oxygen (O) bond together to make (H2O). As they are both non-metals—which need to gain electrons—they have to share, so their outer shells cross over in order to have a full outer shell. A full outer shell has eight electrons. The electrons in this outer shell are called valence electrons.

An ionic bond is the bonding between a non-metal and a metal, that occurs when changed atoms (ions) attract. This happens after a metal atom loses one or more of its electrons to the nonmetal atom. This makes the bond stronger and harder to break.
